MHB Publishing, LLC: More About Us

What we do as your publisher

We are a publishing company with the capability to assist with some coaching during your writing journey. Your book/manuscript must be computer generated (specifically, written in Microsoft Word) and ready for layout when submitted. Your editing must already be done prior to submission. We accept manuscripts under the following conditions:

We require a 12-page sample of your manuscript prior to a signed agreement. Your manuscript sample must be typed, 12 font size minimum, and double spaced.  All handwritten manuscripts will be returned unread.

Your manuscript can be submitted as an e-mail attachment.

Once you have submitted your manuscript sample, we will read it for content (we don't publish pornography). We will be in constant contact with you as to whether or not your process should begin with us.

Once accepted, your manuscript will then be formatted for publication upon your signed agreement for payment (book packages start at $1047 for paperback with no pictures; $300 additional for e-book format with on pictures. Please be advised that all prices are subject to change without notice at the discretion of MHB Publishing, LLC.) ( Clients referred through DPFA will incur a 20% referral fee). We will help you with the issues of publishing formats: determining the right dimensions for your book and assisting you (within reason and our capabilities) with your cover. We can assist you with finding other sources for graphic designs.

We will handle your bar codes, ISBN numbers, pricing and distribution, and understanding KDP Amazon royalty payments.

Sage Sayings to Season the Soul by Maude Helen Baker is available on Amazon.com.  Sage Sayings to Season the Soul is Maude Helen Baker’s compilation of down-home, home spun sayings that she had heard from the time she was a child that, in their own way helped to mold and forge the person she became. Listed in alphabetical order, and sometimes written in the “old folks” vernacular, each saying has been explained in terms that can be understood by all. These sayings are from the “wisdom of the elders” and should not be ignored or discarded.

Danielle Hill:

OH My God this book is like having your grandmas favorite recipe.  It truly takes me back to all the sayings that my mom, dad, grandma, godmom and all of my elders use to say.  All the things I found myself saying with my daughter and that I now say with my grandson.  It brings a smile to your face and your soul.  But I also love the way it gives you a explanation of what it means.  I highly recommend this book.  A great stocking stuffer for the holidays.

Tonia Thomas: This book is deep and a page turner!!

Thomas C. Roper: Love is Difficult

I really enjoy reading first person narratives.  I especially like those narratives where the character is speaking in the vernacular of the geographical area where the story is taking place.  For me, it helps to understand the character to the point I can almost, with accuracy, figure out their next mood or feelings. It's even better when a plot twist proves me wrong.  I loved this back and forth sibling rivalry that many of us have experienced to different degrees.  I was left wanting more and was quite intrigued by the stories antagonist who I also wanted to know more about what drove her attitude and behavior.  This is a wonderful read that I suggest to anyone who wants to hear a secret.

Shawn Kennedy: Real Dysfunctional Relationships

I really enjoyed reading this book and found it difficult to put down. The author (Carol) made Selene and Natalie's relationship appear so real, that at times I found it difficult to remember I was reading fiction. I am sure many readers will find something about Selene and Natalie's relationship that they will be able to relate to based on their dysfunctional relationship with their sibling, or that of a close friend.

This book quickly engages its reader to the point you're talking out loud trying to give advice to Selene before she is at the mercy of her sister yet again. It is also easy for the reader to pass judgment against Selene for apparently playing the "naive victim" repeatedly, but Selene's old-school upbringing had a very powerful influence on her tolerance level with her sister.

This book was well written and I enjoyed the story line. Great job Carol. I can't wait for the sequel.
